Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition originating in childhood, although you may not be diagnosed until adulthood.
ADHD is characterised by difficulties in regulating attention and focus, as well as hyperactivity and impulsivity in some cases. People with ADHD experience unique strengths and challenges, so assessment can help to better understand and tailor support services.
A comprehensive ADHD assessment explores whether an individual meets the criteria for a diagnosis and whether they exhibit a predominantly inattentive, hyperactive/impulsive, or combined presentation.
1st Session - Initial Clinical Interview (50 Mins)
Structured diagnostic interview to determine whether symptoms meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
Background history to determine other or concurrent causes of symptoms.
Self-report and observer (teacher / parent / partner) questionnaires, including the Connors to understand the behaviours and emotions of children and adolescents from the perspective of teachers, parents, and the child themselves and to determine functional impact of symptoms
