Psychoeducational Assessments
A full psychoeducational assessment includes comprehensive cognitive and educational assessments with a series of supplementary tests to accurately identify any underlying problems your child or adolescent may be experiencing with learning within a holistic framework.
This is suitable for individuals aged 6 and above to determine whether there is the potential/diagnosis for any specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dysgraphia (reading, spelling and writing difficulties), attention and memory difficulties (i.e. ADHD), Intellectual disability and/or Intellectual giftedness.
1st Session - Initial Clinical Interview (50 Mins)
A structured diagnostic interview to determine whether symptoms meet the diagnostic criteria for specific learning disorders.
Background history taking to determine other or concurrent causes of learning problems.
Self-report and observer (teacher / parent / partner) questionnaires to obtain collateral sources of information to support diagnoses.
2nd Session - Cognitive Assessment (120 Mins)
A cognitive assessment using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) or the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses and inform intervention strategies as well as the BASC-3.
